YCCD at CPAC 2022

YCCD team members were at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this past week, one of the flagship events of the conservative moment. Held in Orlando, FL, CPAC attracted thousands of attendees from across the country, as well as a roster of influential speakers, including Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sen. Ted Cruz, Governor Kristi Noem, fmr. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, fmr. President Donald Trump, and many more.

As part of the conference, YCCD had large booth in CPAC Central and engaged attendees from all around the US. Our team members spoke about the opportunity for conservatives to play offense on climate and energy, and appeal to the next generation of Americans. Instead of ceding the debate to the environmental left, conservatives can and should advance superior solutions built around the values of free-markets and limited government.

On Friday, we co-hosted a breakout session on this topic, featuring Rick Loughery, the chairman of the Young Republican National Federation, Joseph Pinion III, Republican political strategist & fmr. Newsman TV host, and YCCD team members. The panelists underscored that climate can be a winning issue for the conservative movement. They also agreed that any effective policy strategy must hold foreign emitters, like Russia and China, accountable for their emissions. The event, which was the only one of its kind at CPAC, drew a large crowd and was standing room only.

In addition to this event, and our presence in CPAC Central, YCCD prepared a short video that played on the main stage multiple times throughout the weekend. The video is included below, along with some photo highlights from the conference.
