YCCD at CPAC 2021 in Orlando
In February, YCCD was excited to attend the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC)—one of the largest and most influential conservative conferences in the country. Thousands of GOP leaders and activists traveled to the conservative confab, this time held in Orlando, Florida.
From Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to Texas Senator Ted Cruz to South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to the 45th President Donald J. Trump, the conference featured an influential roster of Republican stalwarts from across the country. As always, CPAC attracted a raft of young conservatives attendees as well, including from YCCD.
In CPAC Central, the YCCD team engaged conference-goers about the dangers of environmental socialism and the value of free-market climate solutions. Over the course of hundreds of conversations over three days, it became clearer than ever that the GOP has a major opportunity to rekindle its proud legacy of environmental stewardship and advance a clean energy strategy that strengthens the US economy and put American manufacturers first.
As in previous years, the YCCD team also attended the CPAC Job Fair, sponsored by the Leadership Institute and The Heritage Foundation. There, our team shared information with up-and-coming conservative activists about the many opportunities to plug-in to the YCCD movement.
While in Florida, the YCCD team had a chance to connect with local GOP leaders, including fmr. Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL19), and Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL26). All have been environmental champions in their own right, and it was an honor to connect with them to hear their advice and discuss further opportunities to embolden Republican climate leadership.
On these, and many other efforts, the YCCD movement is just getting started. Join us as we work to protect the America way of life and safeguard the planet we are blessed to call home. 🇺🇸
