Statement on the Passing of Ted Halstead
Young Conservatives for Carbon Dividends is devastated to hear about the passing of Ted Halstead, President and CEO of the Climate Leadership Council and a leading light of the carbon dividends movement.
As one of the original co-authors of the Conservative Case for Carbon Dividends in 2017, Ted was a steadfast advocate for the need to address climate change, the power of market solutions, and the importance of American leadership.
To say that Ted was a gifted writer, speaker, and strategist is an understatement. His ability to connect and persuade, build unlikely coalitions, and breathe life into the carbon dividends movement made him a force to be reckoned with. His desire to do good, willingness to mentor, and incredible drive and vision also made him a great source of inspiration for our members.
It was an honor to work in common cause with Ted, and his relentless optimism and good-will live on in all of us. We will celebrate him the best way we know how: by pressing forward, advancing the carbon dividends solution, and working to secure the eternal blessings of American freedom and prosperity.
